- High boots are preferable to sneakers on mountain paths.
- Bring rain gear (weather changes quickly in the mountains), sunglasses, a hat or cap, sunscreen, a bottle of water (or bottle), and a snack.
- Don't go too high in the mountains with a baby under the age of 1 (risk of ear infections).
- Stay well hydrated (especially children)

- During your hikes, you may come across cow pens. Please remember to close them after you have passed.
- You may come across herds of grazing sheep. Protection dogs are there to protect them. They are not trained to be aggressive, but they are trained to be deterrents.
